DAY 31 Prayer for Peaceful Reunification

 
May the scars of war in the Demilitarized Zone be healed, and may it become a space for peace education for the next generation.

God of life, thank you that life continues even amidst the tragedy of division. We praise you for allowing wildlife to thrive in the 248 kilometers of the Demilitarized Zone. We are amazed at your power of creation, spreading new life over the war zone with its countless lost lives. On the ground of armed confrontation you have graciously allowed endangered wildlife to make their homes.

God, grant us the wisdom of heaven. May we see your providence and grace in the lives thriving in the mountains and plains, the swamps and the wetlands. May the Demilitarized Zone be the place where we witness the wonders of nature, as a space for life and peace education. In this place where we witnessed so much human cruelty, may we learn that you, the Creator, are the Lord of life. Even as we remember the tragic scars of fratricide, may we become deeply aware of the value of peace and life. In that place, may we confess and repent of our sins and worship you in your power. We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

비무장지대에 남아 있는 전쟁의 상처가 치유되고 다음세대의 평화교육의 현장이 되게 하옵소서.

생명의 하나님, 분단의 아픔 속에서도 생명의 기운이 약동하게 하시니 감사합니다. 248km의 비무장지대에, 야생동물이 뛰어 놀게 하시는 섭리를 찬양합니다. 수많은 젊은이들이 숨진 전투 현장을 생명의 능력으로 덮으시니 놀랍습니다. 수십 년 동안 총과 칼로 대치하는 그곳에 멸종 위기에 처한 야생동물이 둥지를 틀게 하시는 하나님의 은혜에 감사드립니다.

하나님, 저희들에게 하늘의 지혜를 허락하여 주옵소서. 산과 들, 늪과 습지를 뛰노는 귀한 생명을 통하여 하나님의 섭리와 은총을 보게 하옵소서. 비무장지대가 자연의 경이로움을 확인하는 생명과 평화의 교육의 장이 되게 하옵소서. 인간의 사악함을 증언하는 그곳에서, 창조주 하나님께서 생명의 주인이 되심을 배우게 하옵소서. 민족상잔의 참혹한 상처를 기억하되, 평화와 생명의 존귀함을 깨닫게 하옵소서. 그곳에서 인간의 미련함과 죄악을 고백하며, 하나님의 능력을 찬양하게 하옵소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
