March 1949: Graduated from Kochi High School (now Kochi University)
March 1954: Graduated from Nihon kiristo-kyo shingaku senmon gakko (now Tokyo Union Theological Seminary)
November 1954: Qualified as a licensed preacher (United Church of Christ in Japan) and became
Associate Pastor, Shinano-machi kyokai Church, Tokyo (1954-57)
21 January 1957: Married with Akiko (nee Hamada)
1957-59 &1968-69: Studied at Faculty of Theology, Heidelberg University
under Professors Peter Brunner, H. Bornkamm & A. Peters
27 December 1957: Eldest daughter, Yuko, was born.
7 January 1962: Second daughter, Koko, was born.
23 September 1964: Eldest son, Tadashi, was born.
May 1972: Qualified as a minister in full standing (United Church of Christ in Japan)
February 1975: Awarded Doctorate (Hiroshima University)
18 January 1994: Akiko passed away
