Lebensläufe
Dr. Maria Nooke studied Religious Education and worked with church children and youth projects. She has been active in a church peace and environment group in East Germany and was Co-editor of the opposition paper "AUFBRUCH" from 1985.
From 1992 to 1997 she studied Sociology, Psychology and Pedagogy at TU Berlin. She was involved in contemporary projects on National Socialist and East German history. Since 1999 Dr. Maria Nooke is conducting scholarly and directorial responsibilities at the Berlin Wall Memorial and in 2007 she received her PhD degree at FU Berlin.
Dr. Maria Nooke is deputy director of the Berlin Wall Foundation and director of the Marienfelde Refugee Center Museum. Her areas of specialization surround Oral History and Biographical Research.
Dr. Jens Hüttmann studied Political Science, Sociology, History and Economics at the University of Leipzig from 1995-2001. From 2003-2005 he worked as an assistant lecturer at the Institute for Political Science, University of Leipzig and from 2001-2007 as a member of the research staff of the Institute for Higher Education Wittenberg (HoF), University Halle-Wittenberg. He acquired his PhD at the University of Erfurt, Faculty of Philosophy, Grade: Dr. phil. with his topic on “History of scientific research on the GDR since 1949 in West-Germany”. Until July 2009 Dr. Jens Hüttmann was head of the office „Peaceful revolution 20 years ago“ of the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship, Berlin.
His main publications focus on coming to terms with the communist dictatorship in Germany, especially on the history of Scientific Research on the GDR.
He is now head of the Education Department of the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship, Berlin.
Prof. Dr. Koh Yu-hwan received his BA, MA, and PhD in Political Science from Dongguk University in South Korea and is now director and professor of the Institute for North Korean studies at Dongguk University. In 2012 he served as the president of the Korean Association of North Korean Studies.
His major academic interests include North Korean studies, comparative politics and international relations. Koh's specific research has covered questions concerning North Korean Politics, Ideology, Military and Inter-Korean Relations. His books include Understanding North Korea’s Politics (2001), Introduction to North Korean Studies (2001), North Korea and Regional Security(2006) and The World of Everyday Life in North Korea: Cries and Whispers (2010).
Prof. Dr. Park Sun Song received his PhD in economics at the University of Paris - X (Nanterre) in 1992. He was an associate research fellow at the Korean Institute for National Unification (South Korea) from March 1993 to August 1997. He worked as the director at the Peace and Disarmament Center, PSPD and as the president at the Institute of Democracy and Policies, DUP.
Prof. Dr. Park Sun Song is now professor of North Korean studies at Dongguk University in South Korea. He is lecturing about the relationships between the two Koreas, North Korean Economy and Unification Policies. His research interests focus on North Korean Economy, Unification Policy of the two Koreas, Inter-Korean Relations, Division System of Korean Peninsula and Actor-Network of Korean Division
Prof. Dr. Ingrid Miethe studied Pedagogy, Political Science and Sociology at TU Berlin. She received her PhD in Political Science at FU Berlin on the topic of “Women among the GDR opposition” and her habilitation at University of Halle-Wittenberg on “Education and social inequality in the GDR”. From 2000 until 2009 she worked as a professor on the subject of General Pedagogy at Protestant University of Darmstadt and since 2009 at University of Giessen.
Her main topics of research incorporate research on the GDR, History of Education, Education and Social Inequality, International Cooperation in Education and Transfer of Organizations, Qualitative Research, as well as Social Movements. Her current research project at the German Research Foundation deals with the topic “Globalization of an educational idea: Workers’ Faculties in Cuba, Mozambique and Vietnam”.
Prof. Dr. Yi Hee Yong studied Sociology at TU Berlin and received her PhD in Sociology at Kassel University in Germany in 2005, supported by the PhD scholarship program from the Hans-Boeckler Stiftung, Germany. From 2005 until 2007 she has worked as research professor at the Center for Culture and Information Studies at Sungkonghoe University in South Korea. She is now professor at the department of Sociology at Daegu University, South Korea, since 2007.
Her recent articles, such as “(Post)Division and Actor-Network of International Migration: Case Study on the Life and Human Rights of 'Traveling' North Korean Refugees” published in the North Korean Studies Review and qualitative research with North Korean refugees living in South Korea demonstrate her expertise on today’s topic.
Her main interests focus on Social Minorities, Migration, Oral Life Histories and Actor-Network of Korean division.

SSK “Koreanische Teilung/ Post-Division“ Forschungsgruppe, Dongguk Universität
Die SSK (Social Sciences Korea) Forschungsgruppe ‚Koreanische Teilung/ Post-Division‘ der Dongguk University und ihr Projekt 분단의 행위자-네트워크와 탈분단의 사회동학 (Akteure der Teilung – Netzwerke und soziale Dynamiken nach der Teilung), welches von der National Research Foundation of Korea (Fachbereich Soziologie) gefördert wird, besteht seit 10 Jahren als Aufgabengebiet. Unter der Projektleitung von Prof. Dr. Park Sun Song (Professor für Nordkoreastudien der Dongguk Univ.) sind weitere neun WissenschaftlerInnen involviert, deren Schwerpunkte unter anderem auf den Nordkoreastudien, Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Soziologie, Politikwissenschaften, Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaften und Genderstudien liegen. Die Forschungsgruppe will sich von üblichen Themen der Teilungs-Forschung wie Politik und Sicherheit lösen und hingegen die empirischen und praktischen Dimensionen einer Post-Division sowie eine Theorisierung erarbeiten. Durch die Analyse von konkreten Realitäten und Erfahrungen sollen Wirklichkeiten der Teilung neu verstanden werden. Zusätzlich werden pragmatische Perspektiven für den Fall einer Post-Division angestrebt.
KOREA VERBAND
Der KOREA VERBAND ist eine politisch unabhängige Informations- und Kooperationsplattform für alle, die an der Geschichte, Kultur und Politik Korea sowie den aktuellen Entwicklungen auf der koreanischen Halbinsel interessiert sind und sich in diesem Bereich engagieren beziehungsweise informieren möchten. An der Seit der Mensch- und Bürgerrechtsbewegung stehend, sucht und fördert der KOREA VERBAND die Zusammenarbeit auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene mit anderen Nichtregierungsorganisationen und Initiativen sowie Korea-ExpertInnen aus den Bereichen Wissenschaft, Publizistik, Politik, Gewerkschaft, Kirche, Umwelt- und Frauenbewegung, Kunst und Kultur. Der KOREA VERBAND wurde 1990 gegründet und ist Gründungsmitglied der Stiftung Asienhaus. Seit 2008 hat der KOREA VERBAND seinen Sitz in Berlin.
