DAY 34 Prayer for Peaceful Reunification

34. 80세 전후에 이른 고령의 이산가족이 더 늦기 전에 헤어진 혈육과 친지들을 만날 길을 열어 주옵소서.

자비로우신 하나님, 분단의 아픔이 시작된 지 70년이 되었습니다. 남북이 나뉠 즈음 20대 청년들이 90대 할아버지, 할머니가 되었습니다. 고향을 가지 못하고, 보고 싶은 친척들과도 생이별하였습니다. 너무나도 긴 기간이었습니다. 하나님, 이 비극이 끝나도록 도와주시옵소서. 보고 싶은 부모와 형제와 자매들의 얼굴을 잊은 채 산 나날들을 돌아보옵소서. 바벨론 강가에서 고향이 그리워서 눈물로 노래하던 이스라엘과 같이 고향 산천을 그리는 실향민들을 불쌍히 여기소서. 하나님의 사랑의 힘으로 남북의 동포가 하나 되게 하시옵소서. 

역사를 주관하시는 하나님! 지난 70년 동안 남북 간에 쌓아온 이념과 사상의 장벽을 허물어 주옵소서. 이산가족이 자유롭게 오가게 하시고, 민간교류도 원활하게 하여 주시옵소서. 긍휼을 베푸사 기나긴 세월 동안 쌓인 이산가족의 한이 치유되게 하옵소서. 화해를 통하여 평화로운 한민족 공동체를 이루게 하소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.

We pray that you will make a way for elderly persons over the age of 80 to meet their missing family members before it is too late.

Merciful God, it has been 70 years since the tragic division began. Those who were in their twenties at the time are now in their 80s and 90s. They cannot return to their hometowns, and are separated from their missing relatives. It has been a very long time. Please end this tragedy. They have lived so many days, and are forgetting the faces of their beloved parents, brothers and sisters. Like the people of Israel who longed for home as they sat by the rivers of Babylon, these elderly members of divided families long for their North Korean hometowns. Have mercy on them. By the power of your love, may North and South be one.

God of history, break down the ideological wall that has arisen during the past 70 years. Allow the separated families to come and go freely across the border. May there be free civic interaction. In your mercy, heal the long-held grief of the separated families. May one peaceful Korean nation be formed through reconciliation.
