DAY 12 Prayer for Peaceful Reunification

May the 11,000 youth and young adult North Korean refugees adapt smoothly to the South Korean society as they continue their studies.


Loving God, among the North Korean refugees there are 3,500 teenagers and 7,600 in their twenties. The teenagers face many obstacles as they enroll in schools and continue their education. Please help them, as it is not easy to overcome the differences between school systems, and to make up for the time they have lost in transition. Some also face prejudice from school mates. Give the refugee youth the strength and wisdom to overcome their difficulties.

Many of the refugees in their twenties are in university or are preparing for higher education. But a substantial number of them also drop out of university. God, grant these youth and young people the wisdom of Solomon. Give them the faith that they “can do all things in God who gives them strength” (Philippians 4:13). May they finish their education and contribute as main leaders of reunification. 
We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

12. 남한에 정착한 11,000여 명의 새터민 청소년과 청년들이 부족한 학업을 보충하며, 한국 사회에 잘 적응하도록 도와주시옵소서.

사랑의 하나님, 10대 청소년 새터민이 3,500여 명, 20대 청년들이 7,600여 명이나 되나이다. 학교에 진학하여 학업을 계속하는 10대 새터민 청소년들이 겪는 어려움이 크오니 도와주시옵소서. 남북 간에 학교교육 체제가 다르고, 탈북 과정에서 잃어버린 학습 기회를 극복하기가 쉽지 않사옵니다. 새로운 학교에서 일부 학생들의 편견으로 인해서 어려움을 겪는 이도 있사옵니다. 새터민 청소년들에게 힘과 지혜를 주시옵소서.

20대 새터민 청년들도 상당수가 대학에 진학하고 있고, 진학하려고 노력하고 있습니다. 그러나 적지 않은 새터민 청년들 중에는 중도에 학업을 포기하는 사례도 있습니다. 하나님, 새터민 청소년들과 청년들에게 솔로몬의 지혜를 허락하여 주옵소서. 이들에게 “내게 능력주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수(빌 4;13)” 있다는 믿음을 허락하여 주옵소서. 이들이 학업에 마치고 통일 한국의 인재들이 되게 하옵소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
